We are a Scottish based charity and this is our first year involved in the Marathon Majors. We are very excited to be involved in such a prestigious worldwide event. We are happy to offer reserved places in all 5 major events, or if you already have your own place in any of the marathons we would be delighted for you to join the Bluebell team.
Postnatal depression is an extremely debilitating and upsetting illness which affects as many as 1 in 6 of all new mothers - that's 11,500 women in Scotland each year. Over the UK as a whole we know that thousands of women and their families are affected by this type of depression at a time when society most expects them to be happy.
Despite the fact that this is an illness, which responds very well, to appropriate treatment, the stigma attached to postnatal depression and the fear of telling others incase of misunderstanding, mean that postnatal depression and suicide is the leading cause of maternal death in the UK.
We know that there are many areas in the country, which are under-resourced, and the campaign seeks to promote and set up consultancy and service provision in areas which are struggling to do so. As a Scottish Charity we aim to raise a considerable sum this year, which would enable us to expand our service provision and respond to identified need in other areas of the country.
Travel & Accommodation
We have a limited number of guaranteed places for which we ask that runners pledge a minimum of £1000 for Chicago, Berlin and Boston, and £1500 for New York and London.
As we are not associated with any tour operators so you are open to make your own travel and accommodation arrangements, leaving you free to stay as long as you like!
