There are hundreds of runs across the UK or overseas that Team CF runners love to take part in. Here are a few more carefully selected runs that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust will be recruiting runners for.

British 10k
Sunday 6 July 2008

Join us at the eighth annual British London 10k Run which takes you through the heart of London taking in many world famous landmarks. The start is outside the Hard Rock Cafe in Piccadilly then you pass through Trafalgar Square, by Big Ben and across Westminster Bridge with the finish on Whitehall.

Online entries have now filled but if you managed to secure your Own Place, please use it to run with Team CF and raise whatever you can for us?

Alternatively, we have Charity Places available in return for your pledge to raise a minimum of £150 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

City of Manchester 10k

Starting at the Regional Athletics Arena at SportCity before travelling around the outside of the spectacular City of Manchester Stadium. Around 2,000 runners took part in the 2007 event, many proudly wearing a Team CF running vest and we are again the nominated charity for this event.

We are hopeful that a Fun Run may also be introduced in 2008.

Faversham 10k

Our Faversham 10k run includes a fun run that starts and finishes at The Abbey School in Faversham offering you the chance to take part in this road race through beautiful Kent countryside with over 600 others whilst supporting the CF Trust. 

There is ample parking and changing facilities, water stations on route, medals to all finishers plus all 10k finishers receive a commemorative t/shirt too.

Run to the Beat - London’s Half Marathon

London's first half marathon will start, and finish, at the O₂ Arena on Sunday 5 October and we'd love you to take part in this inaugural event with Team CF!

With live bands strategically placed along the 13.1-mile route to encourage you to the finish line, plus entertainment in the O₂ Arena during the afternoon, the race organisers are promising a carnival atmosphere.

Tresco Marathon

If you'd like to run in the world's smallest marathon, sometimes billed as the alternative London Marathon, set amidst breathtaking views of turquoise seas and exotic plants, please contact Dean Whillis on 07936 735813 or email cottageServices@tresco.co.uk to confirm your place for 26 April 2009.

Race Organiser, Dean Whillis, has announced his intention to run the marathon himself for the 10th Anniversary in 2009 and has challenged all runners next year to try to raise £1,000. We are hoping that runners will rise to the challenge - this will enable us to provide over £100,000 to our gene therapy programme. In its nine years the Tresco Marathon has raised over £500,000.

The 26.2m course is made up of seven and a half laps run in a figure of eight around a three and a half mile circuit. The runners, many of whom come back year after year, say that although the harsh inclines en-route are a gruelling test of stamina, the breathtaking landscapes and silver sanded beaches sloping into crystal clear water, make it an idyllic setting for such a demanding pursuit.

The ninth Tresco Marathon was won by Bob Brown from Callington in Cornwall in a time of 2.59.29 and Fiona Ruetsch from Penzance in Cornwall in a time of 3.32.29. Our gratitude is also extended to the 160 islanders of Tresco, who make this event possible, and to each runner who has taken part in, and supported this unique and picturesque marathon to date.
