real,- BERLIN MARATHON
28 September 2008
Starting and finishing near the Brandenburg Gate, one of Berlin's most famous landmarks, the real,- BERLIN-MARATHON attracts a field of more than 40,000 athletes – who have been flocking here to run the 26.2-mile course every year since 1974.
The course heads through the city, taking in some of Berlin's notable landmarks such as the Reichstag and Berliner Dom – and with more than a million spectators out in force to cheer you along the way, in addition to live music blaring out at over 50 locations, you're bound to be pushed on to achieve your own personal goal.
With 1 in 3 people affected by cancer in their lifetime, the need for Maggie’s has never been this acute. In response, we’re building 5 new Centres and developing a new virtual Maggie’s Centre – we pledge to be there for anyone affected by cancer and their friends and families when they need us.
Maggie’s is 100% voluntary funded – we get no money from the Government or any other body. All the money you raise does make a difference.
Please nominate Maggie’s as your chosen charity and £5 of your entry fee will come straight to us! We’ll help you have the time of your life and face your own fitness challenge - please help Maggie’s be there for people facing their own personal challenge of fighting back against cancer.
