Virgin London Marathon - April 2010

Since 1989 Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) has been fighting death and disability from meningitis and septicaemia. In our 20th Anniversary Year please help our fight against these diseases by running for us in the Virgin London Marathon 2010.

If you'd like one of MRF's Golden Bond places, or if you already have a place and are looking for a good cause, join our team to make the most of your Marathon experience.

We ask Golden Bond runners to try and raise a minimum of £1500. The money you raise will help MRF tackle meningitis and septicaemia by funding vital scientific research, raising awareness of the symptoms of the diseases and providing support to those affected.

Nine people suffer from meningitis and septicaemia every day in the UK. Six of these will die per week and those who survive may suffer brain damage, deafness and amputations. While meningitis and septicaemia can affect anyone of any age, the under-fives are most at risk.

There's still a lot of work to do and we're looking ahead to the next 20 years and fighting meningitis at home and abroad.

Our runners will receive:
