About Us
We estimate that there are about 30,000 people in the UK with a form of muscle disease. When family members and friends are included, over 150,000 are affected by muscle wasting conditions. We have pioneered the search for treatments and cures since 1959 and we empower people directly affected by muscle disease, as well as their families and friends, to allow them to lead independent and fulfilled lives by:
- providing care and emotional support
- funding research to find effective treatments and cures
- campaigning to raise awareness for change
- producing high quality information materials
We rely almost entirely on donations to finance the work we do and regard our fundraisers as important as any donors, so we make it our job to give you the best and most memorable experience we can.
