ING New York City Marathon

2 November 2008

BUPA Great North RunCongratulations to the 60 runners who took part in the 2007 ING New York City Marathon for the NSPCC!

It was a brilliant day - with the sun shining and hundreds of locals lining the streets to cheer all the runners on - it really was a day to remember! With the help of our fantastic runners and all the fundraising they have done, we can help even more children who are suffering from cruelty.

One of our runners David said,

"The feeling when I crossed the finish line in Central Park will live with me forever....Whether you are an experienced marathon runner or a first timer like myself, running the New York City marathon is an unbelievable experience. Taking in the five diverse boroughs of New York you'll find the crowds amazing and vocal, the views of Manhattan spectacular and the encouragement welcoming! The NSPCC team were brilliant in helping me through my training schedule right up to race day itself. The weekly email training and fundraising tips were invaluable."
David Grice, NSPCC runner 2007

Imagine running through the famous streets of New York City - unforgettable!
