Working for a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need

Each year, over 130,000 people in the UK have a stroke. That’s one person every five minutes. Most people affected are over 65, but anyone can have a stroke, including children and even babies.

Stroke is the third most common cause of death in the UK. It is also the single most common cause of severe adult disability. More than 250,000 people live with disabilities caused by stroke.

You Love itThe Stroke Association are the only national charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. We fund research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, as well as help stroke patients and their families directly through our community services. These include dysphasia support, family support, information services and welfare grants. We also campaign, educate and inform to increase knowledge of stroke at all levels of society and we act as a voice for everyone affected by stroke.

The Stroke Association welcomes enthusiastic fundraisers! This year we need to raise over £4million to maintain our existing services. To help achieve this we rely on the kind support from people like you. Sign up to one of our events today and help us make a real difference!
