What is the Beijing Marathon?
First held in 1981 the Beijing Marathon is a well-established and popular race. The race is annual and held in October, which is China’s golden season. Therefore the climate is mild and pleasant and the scenery stunning.
The course offers views of both the ancient and modern city. The race kicks off from Tian’anmen Square, through the Dongcheng District, and finished at the National Olympic Sports Centre.
The friendliness and passion from local runners makes this a special event for everyone taking part.
How do you get a place in the Beijing Marathon?
Runners can enter using the online entry system.
Run for charity in the Beijing Marathon
There are two ways that you can run for charity. If you have your own entry in the event you should contact the charity of your choice and let them know you would like to help them.
For those without their own entry, there is another option. All of the charities listed on the Beijing Marathon site have their own entries and in return for a pre-agreed amount of sponsorship they may offer you a place. However they are likely to receive far more enquiries than they have entries. To contact a charity go to the Beijing Marathon Top Events charity listings.
