Dear Friend Having secured a place in the virgin London marathon 2010,after three years of trying ,I’ve decided to put my efforts to a good use and raise as much as I can for the charity HELP FOR HEROES. In order to make things more interesting, I’m attempting to set a new world record by carrying a 40lb back pack the full 26.2 gruelling miles in a time that will hopefully beat that of the current record held by Paddy Doyle who completed the above in 1991 with a time of 4.42.44 seconds. As you are aware this year has seen a dramatic rise in casualties and deaths in our armed forces. This prompted me to get involved with the HELP FOR HEROES charity, in doing so, showing my appreciation and support for their bravery and courage. I’ve no military background but am totally committed to reaching my gaol of becoming a world record holder and raising as much money as possible.
