I've been running for about 8 years now and completed the FLM 2007 on a Golden Bond place for Tommys the baby charity. It was one of the best days of my life! In April 2010 I did it again to celebrate turning 50!!! I knocked 15 mins off my time so have no choice but to do it again in 2011, after all, I've got a new PB to beat! I now live in Australia and my big drama prior to VLM 2010 was becoming stranded in Dubai for 6 days because of the Volcanic ash cloud. I only just made it by getting a flight to Paris where a friend rescued me by driving from Wigan & across the channel by ferry to collect me. It was very stressful but exciting especially when a BBC researcher who had read my posts on Realbuzz contacted me to ask if I would agree to an interview live on the marathon programme. I got to meet the very dishy Jonathon Edwards which made the day even more special. I love living in Australia but can't wait to fly home again to run in the best marathon in the world. I just hope that I can once again cope with doing all my long runs in the Australian summer and please Mr Volcano, behave yourself!!!
