In order that all your efforts are recognised, we’ve devised a points scheme which will give you status on the site as as well as a position on the realbuzz Leaderboard.
You'll be rewarded for your activity off-site that you record with us - e.g. run a 5k and record your stats with us to gain points. In addition we’ll reward those members that engage with the site and make key contributions.
Some of the areas where you’ll earn points include:
- Completing your profile - the more you add the more points you get
- Taking part in a challenge
- Logging your physical activity
- Writing blogs
- Commenting on items including blogs, discussions and articles
- Suggesting a challenge to others
How are points worked out?
Points will be worked out depending on whether your activity is a distance activity or a site action.
For physical activity based on distance completed our number crunching system will take into account factors such as your age, sex, height, weight, distance and time to produce a points score which should equate to the effort you’ve put in doing that activity.
For non-distanced based activity you’ll receive a set number of points for that activity.
Some of the actions that you will receive points for include:
- Simple challenges - you will receive points for any completed simple challenges.
- Site action - points will be awarded per site action.
Note: your points do not update in real time but instead are updated every 24 hours so keep a watch for how many points you are accumulating.
What is the relevance of points?
All your points add up to give you a place on the realbuzz Leaderboard. This will show all the members who are active, have been engaging in challenges, logging activity and generally making a positive contribution to the site.
Leaderboard rankings are based on a rolling 30 day period to ensure that top spot on the Leaderboards is achievable without the need for having been a members for years. You can however switch to view the Leaderboard based on ‘all time’ points gained by members.
What is the member status I’ve been given?
Your total points gained during your time on the site will give you a status to show the level you have earned to date. You can climb up through the status level by gaining more points.
The first few status levels should be relatively easy to achieve but will get increasingly harder to achieve. Your status appears next to your member name on site, including on the Leaderboard, and in your dashboard.
Status levels will be reached once you reach each of the following milestones:
