A Virgin Money Giving Page allows you to take donations quickly, easily and securely online. Established in 2009, Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit company, meaning that more of the money you raise goes directly to your chosen charity.

Setting up a Virgin Money Giving Page is free and once it’s created, will always be open so you can use it for any future fundraising challenges. It’s also easy for donors to add Gift Aid to their donation, increasing the money that goes to your chosen charity.

As the official fundraising website of the biggest annual one-day fundraising event in the world - the Virgin Money London Marathon, the platform helps hundreds of thousands of people every year raise the most money possible for causes close to their heart.

You can also add any donations you receive in cash offline to your total amount displayed on your page, allowing you to easily track exactly how much money you’ve raised in one convenient location.

If you’re using Virgin Money Giving to fundraise, download the mobile app to keep track of your donations on the move. You’ll get a notification every time you receive a donation and you can post to your fundraising page quickly and easily to keep your supporters updated on your progress.

Setting up your page...

Here’s an easy, step by step guide for you to follow when setting up a Virgin Money Giving Page:

1. Go to https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving/ and click on ‘Start Fundraising’.

2. Set up your account by entering your email address, a password and a few other details about yourself.

3. Next, select the type of page you want to set up (as shown in the picture below). Choose from ‘My Challenge’ (if you’re taking on a solo challenge). ‘Someone Special’ (if you’re fundraising in honour of a certain person). Or ‘Team Challenge’ (if you’ll be doing an event as part of a team).

4. After you’ve selected the option that best applies to you, you’ll be asked to fill in a few more details. For the next steps, please refer to the relevant option you’ve chosen below:

  • ‘My Challenge’ - Search and select the event you’ll be taking on. Then search for your chosen charity.*
  • ‘Someone Special’ - Enter the name of the person your honouring and your relationship with that person. Then search for your chosen charity.*
  • ‘Team Challenge’ - Enter your chosen team name. If the members of your team are already set up with a Virgin Money Giving account, then you can simply enter their email addresses to add them to the page. If not, you can send them an email invitation to join your team. Once you’re team members set up their accounts, they will be listed as part of your team. On the next page, you’ll be asked what your team is doing to raise money. Search and select your team’s event. Then search for your chosen charity.*

*You can select up to five charities to raise money for and the money you raise will be split evenly between the selected number of charities (unless you state otherwise using the option underneath your list of charities). You’ll then be asked a few more questions about your chosen charity before you can proceed to ‘Create My Page’.

5. Congratulations! Your fundraising page is now live (and should look a little like the picture below). Now you can start customising it and adding your own content to try and maximise your donations.

6. To make your fundraising page personal to you, upload a cover photo, a profile image and set your fundraising target.

7. Make sure you also write your personal story on your page, to tell people how and why you are raising money for your chosen charity. You should add images, videos and links to your page to make it more engaging and keep your supporters updated every step of the way - from training to the event itself.

8. You can also let people know how much you appreciate their support by setting up a personalised ‘Thank You’ email message that will be sent to people who have donated.

9. Don’t forget to share your personalised URL (which can be customised in your Account settings) with friends and family online so that they can find your page and donate.

10. Watch your donations add up and go and smash your fundraising target!
