Endorphins, body part.
Naturally occurring chemicals produced by the pituitary gland at the base of the brain that are responsible for positive moods. Often generated during prolonged exercise such as distance running, endorphins are known to dull pain, and the feeling of well-being that they produce has been labelled the ‘runner’s high’.
