How to get involved in boxing

Contacts and advice to get you started

Boxing is a great way to exercise and get fit. If you are interested in getting involved then the best place to start is by finding a local club where you can get a feel for the sport. In the UK amateur boxing is regulated by the British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA). They should be able to provide you with details of your local club and therefore should be a starting point for anyone thinking of trying boxing.

Joining a club is by far the best way to get into boxing. Most clubs offer beginner sessions so you get the chance to try out the club and the sport. They often will also offer sessions that are more fitness-based than actual boxing, which will allow you to experience the sport and the club without any pressure and build your confidence. You will need to find out from the club what they offer and how much it costs to join.
