The best dropzones for skydiving overseas

There is a vast array of dropzones in different countries for skydiving, all offering superb skydive tuition and accommodation. To get you started, realbuzz has highlighted some of the best skydiving areas.

Czech Republic skydiving

If you want a very affordable opportunity for skydiving abroad, then look no further than the Czech Republic.

Pribram dropzone is just a 40 minute drive South from Prague. Here the English speaking instructors will guide you through at least eight hours of ground based training before you make your first freefall descent with direct in air supervision from two instructors.

A cameraman will also jump with you allowing you and your instructors an opportunity to analyze your jump and quickly remedy any mistakes.

The dropzone operates two turbolet aircraft and offers onsite accommodation at a mere £3 per night! There is a dropzone restaurant, BBQ and some of the best food you will ever experience in the majestic setting of Pribram castle’s restaurant.

Spain skydiving

Empuriabrava is now one of the top three skydiving centres in the world and provides a superb location for skydiving abroad, with excellent tuition by English speaking instructors and fantastic weather conditions.

Empuriabrava is a favourite dropzone for many of the world's skydive teams to use as a training location.

USA skydiving

Perris Valley Skydiving Centre based in California, is the largest skydiving center in North America. The dropzone offers superb courses for novice jumpers who want to get into skydiving abroad, as well as an on site wind tunnel which is an awesome aid to training.

The center offers various accommodation options, from on-site bunkhouses to nearby hotels and the hours and hours of California sunshine ensure you get many jumps in during your course!

If you decide to learn and qualify as a skydiver abroad, you can then jump regularly at dropzones in the UK. Before enrolling on a course overseas do make sure that the training will be recognized by the BPA and your intended dropzone here in the UK otherwise you might have to undertake some additional training here and end up spending the money you saved by learning overseas…
