London Marathon here I come

Hi everyone!

Well, this is a first on 2 counts - my first ever blog (I'm 36 & surely should of done one by now?) and my first time getting into the London Marathon (3rd time lucky). Bloody hell what was I thinking of!!.

Seemed like a good idea applying in March - once the acceptance came back I had a mixture of elation and flatulance!. On a serious note it's something I've always wanted to do, and despite the dread of the cold winter runs, am really looking forward to it.

Hope to complete the Marathon in about 4 - 4 and a half hours (well, we can all dream!). After going to the gym religiously for 10 years, playing rugby and cycling, my fitness went down the boghole as I changed jobs and much time now taken up by commuting (or is that an excuse) and kids clubs, so trying to get in 3 runs a week to start. Good luck to all of you - really good to read your experiences - at least I'm not on my own! KEEP IT GOING!

1st off roader
