The great big running blog (Majors included!)

Started running in December 2007. Mostly because work meant I was away from home a lot and running can be done any where in the world.

Ran my first "public" 10KM in Knebworth in February 2008. After that I decided to enter some more events and things have not really looked back since then. They have stopped through injury but stopping isn't the same as going backwards!

So here we are and I have run multiple 10KM events, 4 half marathons, two full marathon and run 60km in a 24hr relay event

Included along the way has been 2 injuries which have hampered things. 1) Achilles problem which occured in October 2008 and then the worst one was damage to my hip during the London marathon.

Also I like my walking/trekking and moved my training on to walking with a pack as I was due to climb Mount Aconcagua. Summited on 8th February 2009. Summit height 6962m.

And most recently I have purchased a bike! And so this year the murky world of triathlons beckons.

So that’s a brief history, in brief I have been running of about 3 years but have been injured for more than a year of that! Hopefully the injuries are behind me and now I am looking forward to 2011

In general my goals are to simply keep improving, like improve my 10KM time to nearer 40 mins get my half marathon time under 1hr 35mins and get my marathon time to around 3hrs 10mins

And just for good measure I might add some general trainng goals

Long term goals
