Badger Dave's Going to Reading
Hi there, my name is Dave Rannard and having just completed the New York Marathon, I am now getting ready for my next venture, the Reading half marathon.
My wife, daughter and I travel down to Reading each year to visit friends and we always make sure that it coincides with the half marathon.
With a bit of luck I will be useing this race as part of my training for the London Marathon but like other runners out there wont find out until Dec.
Reading has become one of my favourite events esp since putting the finish line in the Madjeski Stadium, (makes you feel like a real runner).
I am hoping to set a new PB of under 1.46 which I achieved at this years Great North Run and I am looking to run a full marathon asap to go under 4hrs as I narrowly missed that target by 30 seconds in New York!!
That time is haunting me and has taken away some of the gloss of running one of the greatest marathons in the world.
To help me reach these times I am going to join a local running club and enter as many organised runs as possible. (Running on your own in winter gets you down at times)
Finally good luck to anyone doing the Reading run and if trying to get into the London marathon Ihope I'll be joining you there.
