Now cycling and gyming...

It's official - I don't run anymore - just the bike and the gym.

I joined the local gym because I can cope with all the low impact exercises - 2 sorts of bikes, walking on the treadmill (4mph), cross-trainer, hand biking thing, and rowing machine plus 5 weights machines for the upper body, and the leg press. At least I can get a burn and a sweat on, without agravating the arthritis.

Plus, for outdoor exercise I'm biking when I can, and getting out with the 'BikeCrew' group at the weekends, for 20odd milers, mainly offroad.

My abiding mantra is now     'At least I can still exercise...'

Looks like my running PBs are now set in stone, so they're  consigned to the archives -  (happy days!)

Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift, that's why we call it the present.

Cheers, MTS

Full House...

Today was one of the days when all the BikeCrew managed to turn out together, though full house these days is only the 6 of us. We decided to pick a not too muddy route but after yesterday's rain we were bound to get some. You'll be getting used to bits...

...Despite Rule#9, me and the BikeCrew didn't go riding on Sunday -  The 'offroads' were just too icy. I did however bike up to the gym on the mainroads and got a full session in there, with a bit extra on the upright bike, for the legs. Saturday was a...

SO - Almost Like Running...

It's been a G.B. week or so...

GB 1 - Getting Better! I'm not getting such sharp pains in the hip. Well, not as often as I was. There are still some chairs and slouchy positions that cause me grief when I first stand up, but all in all it looks as if the anti-inflammatories are start...
