Mad Midwife's Marathon Mayhem!

Hi everyone

Well, I've finally bitten the bullet and following advice from the forum have decided to start my own FLM training blog.

Please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Julie and I'm a 46 yr old wife to the lovely Dave and mother to 2 children, Liam & Lucy and 2 stepchildren, Kirsty & Keith. The oldest 2 (age 23 & 21) have flown the nest and left home, the youngest 2 (aged 18 & 17) are still at home and showing no signs of wanting to leave. We obviously treat them too well!

As you've probably guessed from my title, I'm a midwife, with my own caseload working  in the community attached to a busy GP's surgery. Although most of the time my job is a happy one, I do look after couples for who pregnancy and childbirth doesn't result in the happy ending that they hoped for. That is why I feel really priviledged to be running on behalf of "tommy's the baby charity" who fund research into miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

Although I've been running for a few years and have always been quite fit, like many of you out there, this will be my first attempt at the marathon and although I am very excited I'm also very nervous too. Any advice or comments that you can offer will be gratefully received.

Thank you in advance
