Laura's London Marathon 2016

I will be running the London Marathon on 24th April 2016 for Worldwide Cancer Research and in loving memory of our dear friends Christine Lane and Chris Preedy who both lost their battles to cancer in January 2015.

I have struggled (ran, walked, crawled) through the Olympic Paek and Southend 10k's this summer and for some odd reason thought this would put me in good stead for the marathon!

I have decided to write a blog to keep everyone up to date with my progress and to show the hard work and dedication needed to get me to race day which I am now under no illusion is going to be a huge challenge for me.

As a complete beginner and after trawling through many training plans I have decided to follow the 26 week beginner plan that my friend Michelle Elkins followed last year, quite simply because I didn't understand half of them and this one entails 3 runs a week that will fit in with my lifestyle.

Please take a look at my fundraising page to read my story and see where your generous donations will go.
