Thank you Sweatshop...

........for looking after us all so well today.

At the end of my planned 12 miler I tagged on to a 3 mile women only beginners run organised by my local Sweatshop (Ribby Hall, Wrea Green) for new members of  the Women's Running Network. Although intended as an introduction for the "rookies" we "veterans" were also invited, and very welcome we were made too.

A good time was had by all and we happily left clutching our goody bags to make use of our discount voucher in the Bistro and free family day pass to the Leisure/health centre. So again, many thanks  to the staff at Sweatshop and Ribby Hall.

First 3 miles of my run today was really hard for some reason. I think I probably didn't quite wake up until mile 4. The pouring rain didn't help  and if it hadn't been for the company of my running buddy Barbara I may have given up. She also felt a bit sluggish at first but thank goodness we didn't give in and once we got going we really enjoyed it. Apart from when the silly old cow in the Ford Mondeo went through a puddle at 50 mph and soaked us again just as we were drying out. Oh the joys of winter running!!!

My lovely husband thinks I deserve a treat for my running efforts today so has offered to take me out to local pub for Sunday Roast, might just have a pud aswell, after all I have burnt off 1200 calories today!

Hope you all had good runs/races today. Happy training x
