Amazing news this week to hear that Mo will be running this years VLM in preparation for next years attempt. He will therefore only be running half way to help him prepare, which means that all of us who finish the course will have beaten Mo Farrah!!! Brilliant!!!!
How many people will be doing the MoBot this year????
After hurting my knee last week on my 17 mile long run I wasn't sure whether I would be able to follow my plan this week so decided to change things about and let it recover.
I happened to be in London (Greenwich) for a couple of days mid week so went for an early morning gentle 6 1/2 mile run taking in a loop round the Isle of Dogs. It was great to run a little bit of the VLM route but also seeing Canary Wharf all lit up before the sun rose. My knee gave me a few twinges but managed to make it back to the hotel at an average pace of 7:11/mile which I was very happy with as it felt a lot slower.
I passed completely on the weekend long run and instead went for a Saturday morning round of golf at Whitsand Bay in Cornwall. The sun was shining, the wind was still and the view form the course on top of the cliffs was superb. My knee felt a little sore afterwards from lugging a golf trolley up and down the hills but I was glad I hadn't subected it to another 17 miles... that can wait until this weekend!
So whilst fairly depressing not to have done much running I figured it was probably for the best.
