It's been over a week since my last run, which was a shorter than usual session with the club. Then a weekend blow-out at a friend's wedding was followed by a lazy week this week.
So I decided to attempt my goal of 10 miles within 90 mins; 30 mins more than I've run before. Off I went, leaving the caravan at just after nine yesterday morning. And it went quite well until four miles, when I felt absolutely shattered. There were no aches, pains or strains. But I could easily have laid down on the roadside, curled up & slept for an hour until I was picked up.
I percivered, and with a combination of running & walking managed to reach my goal in just over eighty minutes. I'm gutted that I had to walk so much, but am pleased that I managed the distance in what I consider to be a reasonable time.
So this is the kick up the backside I need after such a lazy week. I'm off the beer. And am definately back in training.
Finally, my legs feel tired today, & I need to work on my upper body stength.
