I'm sorry for the pun, but I guess I'm trying to run before I can walk. I'm expecting to be able to run somewhere neat to the level that I was at last year. Running has never come naturally to me, which is why (I guess) I decided to take up the challenge all those years ago.
So back to the start I went. A steady 3 miler from home, around the park & back. A run I started out with this time last year; the only difference being that back then I was motivated enough to get up at 'stupid o clock' on a weekday morning to run it.
Not too many beers last night & my share of an M&S 2 for £10 meant that I was feeling good when I woke up at 8. And regardless of the wind & rain, it felt good to be out plodding around a very familiar route. The time wasn't too bad either; slightly ahead of where I was this time last year, & with no aches, pains or discomfort.
I don't think I've quite got 6-7 miles in my tank yet, but looking back on last year's progress, I don't think it'll be long now.
