About the Event

What is the Vitality London 10,000?

Taking place in May, the Vitality London 10,000 is presented by London Marathon Events Ltd - the same team that organises the Virgin Money London Marathon. Boasting a field of elite, club and charity runners, the course takes in part of the route used for the 2012 Olympic Marathons, so you could hardly get a more inspirational location than this.

Race information

The Vitality London 10,000 starts and finishes in St. James's Park and passes many of London's famous sights, including: Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, The London Eye, Cleopatra's Needle, Tate Gallery, Millennium Bridge, Bank of England, St. Paul's Cathedral, Horseguards, and Nelson's Column. Buckingham Palace acts as the backdrop to the start and finish of the race.

The race is started in several waves in relation to your running number and colour. Around the course, each kilometre is clearly marked for your own benefit.

How do you get a place in the Vitality London 10,000?

To participate in the Vitality London 10,000, you will need to register through the online entry system. Places are restricted, so early registration is recommended to guarantee your place. The event also houses a number of charity places, which are always an option for runners who don’t get a place through the initial online entry system.

Run for charity in the Vitality London 10,000

There are two ways that you can run for charity in this event. If you already have your own entry in the event you should contact the charity of your choice and let them know you would like to help them. They will then be able to provide you with all the relevant help and information you will need to reach your fundraising goals.

For those without their own entry, there is another option. All of the charities listed on the Vitality London 10,000 site have their own entries and in return for a pre-agreed sponsorship amount they may offer you a place. However it is worth remembering that the charities are likely to receive far more enquiries than they have entries. To contact a charity and enquire about the availability of places, take a look at the charity listings.
