The extension reflects a shared commitment to developing the Irish Life Dublin Marathon into one of Europe’s largest fundraising marathons. This year’s event took place on Sunday, October 26, 2025 and played host to nearly 2,500 charity runners.
Since first collaborating in 2022, the Dublin Marathon and realbuzz have focused on helping runners to raise vital funds for charities both in Ireland and internationally.
In 2025, the official charity programme included over 150 charities, supported by nearly 2,500 runners from Ireland and abroad who are fundraising as part of dedicated charity teams. The goal is to expand this programme to more than 300 charities in the coming years.
Charity runners participating through the realbuzz programme are expected to raise over €5 million this year, with overall fundraising for the 2025 event set to exceed €9 million.
Seán O’Riain, Chief Executive Officer of the Dublin Marathon, said “The Irish Life Dublin Marathon has always been about more than running, it’s about people coming together to make a difference.
“Our partnership with realbuzz has been instrumental in growing the event’s fundraising impact, connecting thousands of runners with causes that matter deeply to them. Extending this collaboration to 2030 allows us to build on that success and continue our journey to make the Dublin Marathon one of Europe’s largest and most inspiring fundraising events.”
Nick Hollowood, Chief Commercial Officer at realbuzz, added “We’re incredibly proud to extend our partnership with the Dublin Marathon organisers through to 2030.
“This event has a remarkable spirit of community and generosity, and together we’re empowering even more runners to make a meaningful impact through fundraising. We’re excited to continue building on the incredible momentum already achieved.”
