How do I deal with shin splints that I have had for 30 years?

Shin splints are a condition that you really can't ignore, especially when the problem has been persistent for a number of years. In your case you really such seek the advice of a trained professional in order to have your condition properly assessed.

The doctor told me I have bursitis of the gluteus and said it would clear up in a couple of weeks. I am frustrated because I can not run. Is there anything in the meantime to speed up the recovery, it is nearly two weeks with the injury but no improvement.

I get a stitch on my right side at the bottom of my rib cage, every run that I do. It sometimes moves over to my left but not very often. Is there anything that you can suggest? I've tried putting my hands in the air, squeezing my water bottle and I stop to stretch but it always comes back. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
