How soon after running should I eat?
Refuelling after your run is an important part of your recovery to replenish your energy stores and begin the rebuilding process. Ideally, try to consume some carbohydrate within 15 minutes of finishing your session because it is in that first 15 minutes that your body is most receptive to restocking your fuel tanks.
A glucose drink is ideal because it is easy to consume and will also help with re-hydration. Next, within two hours of finishing, try to eat again, this time consuming some complex carbohydrate and protein for cell repair.
