What is the best way to recover post run?

After running the first point of call should be a decent warm down (but not too long to add to fatigue). Stretching, ideally with a protein shake, compression or an ice bath, decent food with high amount of protein and sufficient carbs, and a good night’s sleep are all recommended.

Getting a hard run done in the morning followed by an easy cycle or swim is perfect for flushing the legs. I’d also recommend massage if you’re running above 40 miles (approx. 64km) a week.
