i will cross the london marathon final line... Whoppppp...
Hello lovely people,
I am new to the running world, well I do not think I have ever liked running as I am belly dancer so we do not do running. I have met my boyfriend a year and half ago, ( he is one of those crazy runners) he always thought that am lazy and I do not have a healthy life style, he did great welsh marathon last year and I was fully supportive to him.
So On 13th of April I will be running London Marathon WHOPPPP. If you asked me to do the same 2 years ago, I would say get lost dude, I am not crazy enough to put my body through 26.2 miles of agony……. But hey ho!
I saw some amazing people (some with disabilities) who went through such unbelievable pain to raise money for various charities. I saw people who were very emotional of their achievement when they crossed the finish line, some were crying. At this point I said to myself, ‘’ If others can make such an effort in order to support others, then I too should try to do the same’’. I was inspired by their efforts, and now I want to help raise money by setting myself this huge challenge.
I LOVE kids, therefore I have chosen to support the Whizz-kids charity. I hope my efforts can make a difference to their lives (however small), and to help ensure a better future for them. I started my training the first day of the New Year, I was reading a lot about different sorts of sports, how can I improve my knees to make them able to run. Note: ( I have never been a runner) and I kept running and exercising till I have released the truth to my boyfriend and told him that I have signed up for London Marathon and it will be my first one and it will be his 8th marathon!! To be honest, he was quite shocked of my plan and he said to me that he does not agree with me as it is not easy to train for such long distance, but I did it and ran my first half marathon (Garmin Half) (Race ur pace) in 2:16, I was really pleased with my timing, and now I have reached 18 miles distance, last Sunday I did 17 miles and completed it in 3:05…
51 days to go to the big day and I am really looking forward to it, however, i need to raise £1600 and I have only managed £600 but I am sure I will find a lovely people who would believe on my cause and will support disabled kids to ensure a great 2014 a head.
Looking forward to meet you guys in this big day, and wishing all of the best of luck J
Cheers, Geege
