Southward Bound !

In my quest for a place and a reasonable time in the 2007 London marathon I have set myself various tasks and challenges in the run up to April.

I have just completed the Great Manchester Run with a personal best time of 48.28. The next step was applying for the Great South Run...... so here I am.

I found blogging for the GMR really helpful in order to keep track of distances and times as well as finding out how everyone else is doing.

I was offered a bonded place for the GMR through the Meningitis Research Foundation - A charity who have helped me and my family in times of need and raised £400. I have been given another bonded place by the Foundation for the GSR and hope to raise at least £150.

Here are my GSR hopes, dreams and aspirations !!!!!!!

I am planning on throwing myself around the Pompey course in under 80 mins.

I am planning on cheering mother Holohan over the finish line at the top of my lungs.

I am planning on seeing a few old work mates after the race in Portsmouth and getting stupendously drunk.

I am planning on enjoying my training and making 10 miles in 80 minutes a doddle.

I am planning on finding a local half marathon before October

I am planning on blogging as much as possible, sharing what little I know about training / running / nutrition and anything else of intersest.

Good luck bloggers - See you in October !
