My 26.2 mile journey...
I had to heavily edit the last "Tell us about yourself" bit, as a lot has changed: My age, for starters, but also my goals. I am now 48, mum of 2 girls aged 9 & 11 & wife to my ever patient husband, Jason. He doesn't run, but he is very flexible and forgiving for what can sometimes be a lot of hours out, running. I work full time, so as a family, we all have to be a bit stretchy and creative with fitting everything in. My goal (now 8 marathons & 1 ultra under my belt) is STILL to crack sub 4. But my bigger goal, is to have fun, trying to do it! Oh - and not to be so **** and start blogging on here more often, again......!

Happy New Year to anyone who is reading this. I hope you are all feeling ready for the year ahead and have many races, goals and dreams planned for it.
Before i talk about 2019, i wanted to look back on last year. I began blogging on here, in 2013. Th...
I’ve managed to log in and start to type a blog. My inspiration to think about doing so, was Hollywoods post on Facebook a couple of days ago. My inspiration for physically logging on, was the very sad news that I read this morning, about Marika.
I hav...
Brighton marathon, 2 weeks ago, was my 10th marathon and my favourite to date. It wasn't the easiest - far from it in that heat. It wasn't my fastest. I was injured and undertrained. But I ran it with Hollywood. For me it was a whole different race. It ...
.......but first, a few hills to climb. I'm talking actual hills. This Saturday, I feel that I will kind of be with a few of the Snowdonia Buzzers, albeit that my hills are not quite as high and much further South. This Saturday I will be running (well,...
Hello. My name is Simmy and I used to blog on here. Quite a lot. I made a lot of friends through RealBuzz. But has it really been NINE months, since I last wrote anything? If I had conceived when I last wrote, I could be blogging today, to announce the ...
Thankfully, i'm not referring to my body, squeezing into my running gear. I'm referring to finding the time to run!!!
I started a new job last week, which was the perfect role: a teaching assistant at the local primary school where one of my girls atten...
i've just logged on and checked back to see when i last wrote about an actual race or run: May the 8th? That was my write up from this years VLM. I then wrote a few very short blogs, with very boring updates.
This is a short one too, just a brief summar...
Hello!!!
I haven't blogged on here since June 5th & am embarrassed to admit that i haven't actually been on here either, much after that? Apologies to all - i have a lot of reading ahead, to catch up with all your running.
I'm aware of tomorrow, th...
Berlin Bolt, The King of the ultra distance, was the first person who I knew, that had completed an Ultra. Not just one, but many. I was intrigued and in awe, of anyone that could plan for and complete such a distance? I know that many other RealBuzzers...
Well, not a holiday as we all know it. Not one where you pack a suitcase & fly off to sunnier skies, to relax on a beach & catch up on rest, relaxation and family time.
Yes, I've had a 2 week holiday, but it was just a fortnights break from runn...
It seems so long ago now and i’m sorry for taking this long to write my blog. In the days and nights since the VLM, my emotions and thoughts seem to have yo-yo’d. I was waiting for them to settle in a place that I could then base my review on. But 11 da...
I've just been for my last, very gentle, 2 mile run, before the big day on Sunday. I got a lovely send off from everyone at Southdowns RunClub this morning, which made me feel even more geared up. I think i'm all set to go. Well, apart from having not p...
Ahhhh! Normal life has resumed. Back to work today. The high of the weekend is still fresh in my mind and even more memorable in my aching legs. In fact aching everything!
I was so looking forward to meeting everyone on the Saturday. I've got to say, th...

And Gaelle, too. Not much, as now that I'm sat on the sofa (in the dangerous "falling asleep" position) with the flippy foot rest bit up, I'm feeling less energetic! BUT in my last post, I mentioned that my energy had just disappeared; Gaelle said hers ...
Ok, everyone's in detention and no ones leaving until we find out who has taken it. Dunno what you're talking about, Miss? MY "energy" My "get up and go" My "normal feeling" I ran 20 miles on Friday, despite having a very (very) mild sore throat (the sp...
Just a quick update, after my fall on the 7th March. Thank you for all your well wishes on my last blog. The swelling went down fairly quickly, but not completely. The doctor checked my ankle and confirmed that the tendons were stretched, but nothing mo...
I'll try to make this brief. The short version, is that I set out for my 20 mile run yesterday morning, fell over and walked the last 2 miles.
But the long version is really packed with quite a few ups and downs, so brace yourselves..........
Last week...
Ahhhhhhh.....My feet are finally touching the ground. Yesterdays "race" has been going round and round in my head and I feel that I can put it in writing now. I have put race in inverted commas, as I wasn't sure how I was going to run it: as a training ...
The training plan has been going well. Last week I ran my long run of 14 miles, starting off at a slower pace (9.30 min miling) and finishing the last 4 miles in under 9 minute miling, so a very pleasing run. Afterwards, I recovered well and felt fine. ...
Ok, nothing to do with running myself, but a request to you all out there: Some of you have mentioned some good, running related reads. I didn't make a note of them, but if you can recommend a good 'running' book, (& a brief description) id greatly ...
Afternoon all. This year, I chose a plan rather randomly, working on 3-4 runs a week. It doesn't sound like a lot, but last year, I think I became so obsessed with following my plan to the last letter, that if the run was short, or the pace was slower, ...
I'm sat here at the keyboard, like a rabbit in the headlights. I've glanced at Realbuzz from time to time over the last few months and read a few blogs, but to be honest, I feel completely LOST! Is it really 4 months since my last blog? And much longe...
I have the additional challenge this Sunday, of trying to keep up with my running partner in crime, Mr Bolty Bolt. And I don't just mean keeping up the pace, but also the fashion stakes, too. What's a girl to wear, when Gerry will be chaneling the "Morp...
