We are the Friday Gang|

The Friday Gang started as five friends who were all running in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon. We were all members of an informal running group who ran in Ellesmere, Shropshire on Friday evenings.

Most of the gang still run, to a greater or lesser extent, but blogging sadly fell by the wayside. Little ol' me (Mandy) decided to pick up where I left off with blogging and running as I'd had very lengthy periods without any exercise due to family illness and a seriously broken arm in a trail race the last time I started running again! (I still have a tonne of metal in my wrist!)

So, carrying a bit more weight than I'd like, much slower than I'd like, I've signed up for Kielder Dark Skies run - a 26.5 mile off-road race, at night, where we run the trail around Kielder Water carrying our rucksacks! Not the easiest of first challenges, but my running buddy Will and I love trails and mountains and combining our runs with visiting beautiful places.

i would love one day to run an ultra but, for now, I'd just love to enjoy my running again.

Thanks for listening! 😊

January ups and downs...😊

Hello Buzzers 😊 Hope you're all well - there seems to be a plethora of nasty and persistent bugs about at the moment and, whilst I'm marathon training, it's making me paranoid. If I hear someone cough or sneeze in a shop, I run a mile, covering my face!...

2016...where did that go?!! I don't know if it's just me, but I feel as though I must have blinked and missed a huge proportion of the last year as it hurtled by at an alarming pace. Looking back, I'd set myself some goals for the year beginning with th...

Down but not out - the sequel!
