Seems they all can run faster...

So...done a 5 mile race with my big bro and a couple of runs wth my daughter and my dog and it seems they can all show me a clean pair of heels. Not too surprised by the dog - reckon he could show Mo Farah a thing or two. And  my daughter is after all 3...

Wow everyone.Just wow....

.....reading though everybodys amazing exploits makes me feel quite unworthy. Hardly feel my meagre efforts warrant posting . Certainly not going to be inspiring or impressing anyone vey much. Nonetheless posting makes me reflect and by doing so hopeful...

Been a long time.....

Hi. Been over a year since I was last here. But it is the place I return to for inspiration and a friendly kick up the jacksy to get me going. For those who dont know me of old ( which will be most of you) I am a rapidly aging GP , mother  of two , who ...

Zipp-a-dee-doo-dah...

What a wonderful day! The sun is shining, the sky is blue , and whilst not exactly "... on my shoulder" as the song goes , the birds are definitely singing. Perfect day for a run. Hence did 4.5 miles with me old mucker Pauline. First outing, I am ashame...

Run the Bath..

Firstly well done to everyone out there this weekend. Some amazing efforts - lots of PBs flying around - but gutsy runs from one and all. I enjoyed reading your race reports - inspirational as ever.  Well no PB time for me, but a "personal best" half ma...

Good luck fellow Bathers!

Hi! Been away a while. Just wanted to wish everyone who is doing Bath half on Sunday the best of British! See you there. Looks like rain but what's new?

Happy New Year.

Hi there chaps. Been a while I know. Won't go into details but this is never a good time for me. No dramas, just always a bit down at this time of year despite loving Christmas and all that goes with it. However sometimes just have to give yourself a go...

Could somebody help me up ple...

Is there a realbuzz training baton? I know I am only a recent returnee to the site and thus probably not to be trusted with such a thing, but I really felt I had hold of it on Saturday. It was one of those days when nothing seemed to be going well. Star...

They are having a laugh...

This is not about runnig but has anyone else seen the price of tickets for the rugby world cup 2015?!!!!

Get down Shep

So last week was a bit of a training hiatus in that not much happened. Well , work happened . Rather more than usual actually, so that sort of put the kibosh on my normal running timetable. I have the luxury of being part time ( 2.5 days a week) but las...

Mud mud glorious mud

Fantastic day at Twickers on Saturday. I thought the boys done good. Our centre pairing did not look as fragile as I had feared and our pack more than held its own. All in all very promising and makes me very excited for the World Cup. So many teams in ...

Dan the man...

If you want to run faster, you have got to run faster. Can't remember where I read that but makes sense. So I have therefore modified my Hal Higdon plan. The Novice 2 schedule that I had picked out is good but has no “speedy “ stuff so I am swapping in ...

Back to Mr Higdon

Well - have perused a few training plans and looks like I will be back with Hal. I used him for the FLM back in the day so know his plans work for me.He has a rather nifty schedule which sits between novice and intermediate and only has 4 runs a week, s...

To be or not to be...a novice?

Today was my first run since return from Cyprus – this was due to combination of torrential rain and the need to get my life back into some semblance of order. Storm had felled a few of our trees, lost a few roof tiles plus the tractor shed lost a panel...

Took my new shoes on holiday

In airport waiting for flight home from Cyprus. Hubby had a few days lecturing over here so we tagged on a short break. Had 3 days walking in Troodos mountains which was fab , then I had a few days to amuse myself in Nicosia whilst he did his work bit. ...

How much!!!

Bought my new shoes. Lordy lord but they cost  pretty penny!

Goodbye to you my trusted fri...

Had a frustrating day yesterday. Having put in 2 very long days at the coalface Monday and Tuesday , planned a mind clearing run for the afternoon as it is  my half day. Ha - funny joke! As per usual after an 8 hour half day, by the time I had got home ...

Tempus fugit

I don't know how but it seems I no longer have any children. My baby girl turned 18 on Saturday so I now officially have two adult daughters. Though we all know this is not true. They will always be my babies and accordingly I claim the right to hug the...

Prevarication...

....is my middle name. And that is not always a bad thing. I was going to get up early and do 7 am run. This turned into a 9 am run to give weather a chance to improve. This turned into a 9.30 am hamstermill intervals session to give my breakfast a chan...

Blast from the past!

Remember me anyone? Recently refound my mojo after a bleak time. Thanks mainly to my hubby who knowing me well and having had enough of my bleakness  said " Get thee running again woman. It will do wonders" and by jingo he was right. Now all I have got ...

Bye bye baby , baby goodbye...

I may have no talent for running , but I do have a love of it , which will do very nicely instead. I love being out there on a quiet chilled misty morning. I love seeing kingfishers darting along the river. I love when I get into the “zone”, when my leg...

Tales of the riverbank

Did an odd run today. A new route which was lovely - hubby dropped me in Maidstone town centre, which isn't very lovely , but I soon was running along the towpath of the Medway , which, rats apart , was rather lovely.Lots of men with geen umbrellas and ...

good luck..

....to everyone doing the GNR this weekend with a special mention to Malcolm,Alaistair and "elite" starter Dizzy! I will be thinking of you all and remembering happy times running thru Gateshead in the past and not so happy times queing interminably for...

Lovin' the rugby world cup

...but it is playing havoc with my running at a time when I can't really afford to be having havoc anywhere in my vicinity. You would think the IRB would realise there are early morning runners who also love their rugby and reschedule their matches acco...
