Linda's Marathon

2007 was meant to be my London Marathon debut!

Sadly with 2 weeks to go and the training under my belt, it all went terribly wrong.

I got a stress fracture of my tibia and was told in no uncertain terms I was not to run.

It was a hard pill to swallow, I was ready and so so excited, I'd even won the chance to start with the celebs at the green start. It just wasn't to be.

So anyway, here I am and possibly the most excited person on the blog site.

I really can't wait to stand on that start line.

I'm running for one important charity!

MYFANWY TOWNSEND MELANOMA RESEARCH FUND

This is following diagnosis of malignant melanoma on an immediate member of my family. To get cancer at any age is hard and horrible to get it in your early years is shocking. It was so unexpected and out of the blue.

Malignant melanoma is on the rise and is deadly. Unless the condition is diagnosed early prognosis is bleak.

If anyone is able to support this charity I would be most grateful. We need to raise awarenss to aid early detection and also start researching for effective treatment and a cure.
