I know it's been a while but guess what? I'm a marathon runner. I ran in the Yorkshire marathon on Sunday 11th October. Finished it in 4:51. I was really pleased with that. It was a great event to be part of and I'm going to run in the Manchester marath...

Thirteen point one

Happy New Year everyone, I ran a half marathon this morning! 2 hours and 10 mins. particularly pleased as I've been feeling a bit off it, so went on a run to stop myself wallowing in self pity. I have 4 official half marathons signed up for in 2015, sta...

1 Year On!

It's nearly a year since I started and i can't believe the difference running has made to my life. I ran 10 miles on Saturday and completed my 12th 10k race of the year on Sunday! I have 8 races already booked for next year, including half marathons in ...

Still Going!

Haven't updated for a while. I'm still running. Did 10K tonight. I now run with a group and do 3x5K a week. I'm entered for 3 more 10k runs this year and I'm running a half marathon next May. Can't believe the difference 6 months have made! I actually f...

Wakefield 10K

I completed my first official 10K today. 56:47. Really pleased and a little bit proud. Have had loads of support and can't believe how much better I feel both physically send mentally. I have a feeling it will be one of many!

10K!!!

Tonight, with loads of help and encouragement from my running partner, I ran 10K in a not too shoddy 1 hr and 3 minutes!😃 To say I'm delighted is an understatement! I'm struggling to get my head around the change. I'd actually marked out this run on th...

Park Run 5K

I did my first "competitive" run this morning. I entered a park run. There were over 200 people there! It felt great to be running with other people; I really felt part of something. Have to say I did find it hard work but a great sense of achievement a...

Still Running

8 weeks in and I'm still going! Ran 6K yesterday and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. Feel like a proper runner. Wish I'd started years ago. Lost around 20lbs and looking and feeling better than I've done in years. Looking forward to reaching my ta...

A milestone reached

Managed to run for 20 minutes without stopping for the first time today. Can't begin to describe what a feeling it was. I'm aware that in the grand scheme of things, it's nothing really. But for me it's huge and provides me with further motivation. Plus...

Fatman continues

Most enjoyable run so far which was good as on Monday I was completely knackered! I've managed to buddy up with a friend and now there are actually 5 of us going to take on the 10k in July. It provides a lot of motivation and today I cours actually see ...

Hard Work today.

Run number 3 found it hard really hard today. That being said I did it, which is good and I literally jumped out of bed (as I was late) no breakfast etc. Feel pleased that I stuck at it but it's another little reality check as to how much work I have to...

Fatman starts.

Woke up this morning, hungover again, still full of Xmas binging food. Don't like what I saw so foolishly decided to sign up for Leeds 10k run in July. Made it public so it would actually make me do it. Managed to persuade a couple of mates to join too....
