I can't believe it is 2 weeks since my last post, I knew I had slacked off a bit but 14 days? Well I haven't been idle but I can't honestly say I have been on top of it either.
Running - been for a few runs, most of them along the Farlington Marshes tra...
Feel much better now. I did take the dog out for along walk last night and that helped.
Running - all day today I have been umming and aaahing about running or taking another rest as I was still a little achy. But aren't we always after a decent work o...
I'm sure I have used that blog title before.
Friday - popped out on the 2½ mile route round my home, it used to take me around 32 minutes when I first started running. I always wanted to get it uner 25mins (meaning 10mm) but never managed it, I think t...
Well, apart from sprinting up peoples drive to deliver their parcels, I suppose that counts as an impromptu speed session doesn't it?
I was ready to go for a run after the England match and I had my kit on, the weather was damp and rainy but that's how ...
Blogging this whilst France struggle against Albania, what a crap match so far. Anyway, I took the boy to football training tonight and took the opportunity to run a route in Emsworth that I have often seen and wanted to run but never made it to. Until ...
Since London 2012 the furthest I have ran is 3 miles, and never non stop. I've always taken a few walk breaks on those runs, sometimes because my back was hurting but mainly because I wanted to take it easy, really easy, and not risk any injury. Which d...
Naaah. Wanted to but tried an old route today, part of it is along a shingle beacha nd that took it out of me, that plus the heat out there. It is really muggy here today, feels like a thunderstorm is about to break but that run was 7 hours ago now and ...
Did the same run yesterday, the 2½m trail around Farlington Marshes. Took my old garmin - I haven't worn it for years and didn't realise how huge it is! Anyway, it took me 29:43 and I am fairly happy with that considering I set myself a target of 30 min...
Managed to sneak in a couple of short ones since my calf played up. I did rest it for a good few days then on Tuesday I went for a little tester run, had no problem with that so was fairly confident that things were OK. Did a slightly longer run on Wedn...
...again. Just getting back into the habit, and enjoyment, of running when I get an injury. The last few times I have tried to re-start I have gotten calf injuries. 25 minutes into todays run and I felt my left calf start to tighten up. I did stop, stre...
More time on me feet today. Another 30 mins run/walk. Well, 28 mins 04 seconds to be exact. The last few runs were 2.5 miles, today was a different route and worked out at 2.3 miles. This means my current pace is, as it always was, around 12mm. Not that...
It's been a while, a long long while. Recently though I have had some time off work and found time for a little run (been working 12 hrs a day 6 days a week for over a year and my only day off has been spent completely resting). God I have missed it! Do...
Gonna be a short post. Had a fall at work earlier in the week, landed ALL my weight on my side, the side with my keys in the pocket. Had a dead leg since then and could hardly walk. Still painful and can't put much weight on it yet so no exercises at al...
Those 400m reps that took me so long yesterday? They were actually 600m reps! Explains why I was so slow
Run - zero. Not even up and down drives as today was so quiet I walked everywhere and was still finished my route by 2pm.
Exercise - apart from car...
Sorry, been a little lax with blogging. To be honest, I am lacking motivation again. Been exercising but not pushing myself as hard as I could or should. And only done 1 run in these last 4 days, and that was just now.
Run - in four days, just one. Not ...
When training for FLM 2007 a fellow runner, and a bloody good one at that, told me that even if I don't feel like it, I should still run. Someone else recently told me (a personal trainer) that if you feel tired or ill then it might be an idea to miss e...
Jan 7th - today was interesting as it turned into an unplanned HiiT session (high intensitity interval training). It rained, a hell of a lot. There was hailstones and thunder and lightning and the roads were like rivers. Oh, and puddles. Bloody great bi...
But still not doing it every day as I mean to.
Jan 4th - started well but it all went downhill in the evening
Run - Didn't.
Exercise - same as yesterday but added 5 crunches and 5 sqauts
Food - porridge for breakfast, had a late lunch but I can't reme...
Never mentioned my actual weight yesterday. After the detox plan I was down to 16st 9lb. After Christmas it went up (unsurpisingly) to 16st 12lb. Which is where I am starting this blog from. I am NOT going to weigh myself every day as I like to, in fact...
Right then, I see Ruddy is back blogging, I see Kim had posted a few recently so it's high time I got my ass in gear and started again. Again. But this time carry on instead of posting once and forgetting about it. I have changed (or will in a minute, o...
Despite my best intentions to get back into the habit of blogging every day I see it has been 10 days since my last entry. Not even sure I can remember back the day before yesterday to add an entry of some kind! Basically I have been sitting up and pres...
Might be a bit personal this one but hey ho, it's what I have written today.
1. Smoking - I don't, and never have. Tried it when I was about 11 and didn't like it so never took it up. Both my parents smoke, all my grandparents were smokers, most of my a...
Can't believe I am going to actually post this confession.
Saturday - as said before, I went to The Farmhouse for lunch where I had an all day breakfast! Seemed like a good idea at the time but at the back of my mind I knew I would regret it. And, and....
Before or after breakfast? - there is a lot of conjecture about exercising before or after food. Which do you prefer? Some say that for maximum weight loss you should exercise on empty as this helps the body use up more fat as energy. Others say eat a l...
