YORK RUN

Posted on: 21 Aug 2013

Its only two and a bit weeks to the run known as Oggies Run on September 8th.

For those that don't already know, the idea is to get as many Realbuzzers running together on the same day across the UK. The distance is unimportant, just do whatever you can and if you can afford to then please donate to our chosen charity NASS via the Virgin money page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/oggiesrun.

I'm trying to guage interest for the York run, we have planned out a half marathon with plenty of break options for those wanting to run 5k or other distances.

The half marathon route starts right outside the iconic York minster, takes in some scenic streets of York before heading along river paths, over the Millenium Bridge then out along footpaths and a very quiet B road for 5 miles to the village of Overton. The route is an out and back which finishes back in York at the Bay horse Pub right next to the Marygate car park.We could have a quick pit stop and a chat or even food and drink if anyone wants it.I tested out most of the route on Sunday and the city was nice and quiet at 10am so no congestion to worry about.

The route is designed so that there is a 5k run and finish point next to the Marygate car park for anyone who only intends running a short distance. There will also be the opportunity to run 10k too ( or whatever distance you want )

Here is the route map:

At the moment its just Ali and myself confirmed, surely there are a few other up North who would like to join us?

Have you moved up from London yet Stephie? if so and you're ready to run please get in touch.

Anyone else? the more the merrier!
