Just a quick update on my 80's charity disco night. It was a great night & turned out to be a huge success.
I was a little worried about the lack of intrest leading up to this event as a lot of my friends & family had other commitments. But as I am a realbuzzer I wasn't going to give this event up without a fight. I have been working so hard in promoting it & getting the word out. Raffle & auction prizes were top of my list last week as I felt that this was going to make me the money.
I was overwelmed with the support from all the businesses I approached & they all gave me such great gifts.
So back to last night, I am still buzzing from it. I have never done anything like this before & it was a risk, but it paid off. Everybody really got into the spirit of the night & dressed to impressed.
The Fish & Chips went down a storm & so did the karaoke. I never knew there where so many classic 80's tunes!!! Everywhere I looked there were leg warmers & glow sticks it was a real 80's bash!!!
So after the dust had settled & we had packed away for the evening, I breathed a huge sigh of relief that it turned out to be a success. You know it's a good night when you hear people signing WHAM down the street!!!
We raised over £470 on the night & that takes my total to over £700!!!! This has given me that extra push & motivation I need to really push on with my training now, as I have been so busy promoting this event & work commitments, running has taken a back seat of late.
Next week I hope to go out for at least two quality sessions with one of them being a long 13-14 miler to get me back on track.
Here are some of the photos from the 80's night. Take care guys & have a great week.
