When training for a half marathon or marathon, the "Sunday" long run can be the most daunting part of the training, I know it is for me at least, especially if you are on your own. To tackle this, I joined a running club, best decision ever.
I had said it so many times to myself before, joining, that I need to find someone to run with; even if it’s just for a part of the run! That way I could take my mind off the XX amount of distance I was expected to cover. You'd be surprised how quickly running 8 miles with a buddy flies by. I'm planning to run 12 miles next Sunday with someone from my running group. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm still trying to get to grips with pacing myself on the runs as they get longer, but thank goodness I've learnt that wine gums are much easier for me to eat when on the run rather than the lucazade or SIS energy gels.
