A hot steady run

Posted on: 17 Jul 2013

Today at lunch I was joined by Mikala, Joanne, Hannah and Andy and today seemed hotter than the other days this week. We were on the same 4 mile route as it has the most shade we can find and also gives me the chance to add in extra loops if I want more distance.

We set off at just over 10 minute pace on what is a mainly uphill first mile and then headed across to the park and down through it. After the park I turned off on a quarter mile loop and was joined by Andy.

We returned back to the route and started to chase down the others up through the snicketts and caught them before we headed back onto the road. Andy went to the front with Mikala and Joanne and I stayed with Hannah who had dropped back a bit.

Hannah is doing the UK 3 Peaks at weekend - Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon and will now rest up with that in mind - I hope it's not as hot at weekend.

I chose not to add another loop in to the route today and finished with Hannah in 40:24.

It's back to a double day tomorrow, then a steady day on Friday, rest Saturday and a local 10k race on Sunday over quite a hilly route.

Happy running!
