This post didn't post... I will try again. I can run!
Posted on: 17 Aug 2016
I wrote this a few days ago, but it is odd, it obviously didn't post properly, so I am trying again:
Title: Well, I haven't done any running, but... I will!
(Note about the title - this was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I pressed the wrong button, and things have changed, today!)
I have been away. Did you notice?
We went to Lanzarote for 10 days, to go diving again. I was rather rubbish, as I was last time, and I got a bit freaked out, but my husband (Rob) and the lovely instructor person talked me into trying again, properly, and it was lovely, once I had actually dared to get underwater! The sea wasn't as warm and clear as it was in Thailand, but it was still nice and bright, and there were oh, so many fish! Smile I did 3 dives, in the end, and Mr Flump and the eldest Flumpette went diving at night, twice. It all sounded lovely, but I wouldn't dare to do that (even if I managed to get myself qualified!)
We got back on Friday.
Yesterday, I did a half-hour on the exercise bike.
This afternoon, I went swimming. I did 20 lengths of a 30m pool, with no pauses, so I was swimming solidly, all that time. I was worn out, after that!
I have decided that I NEED to sort myself out. I am far too blobby.
So: I will allow myself to drink tonight (because there is a half-bottle of wine in the fridge Wink), but then I will not allow myself any booze until I am under 75 kilos (which means I have to los at least 5 kilos).
I will NOT have any biscuits (which I normally have 2 or 3 of, a day), and no booze, and no cakes (I have a major weakness for muffins. and I normally have one of those after my lunch. Nice, but completely unnecessary!).
I will make sure I exercise at least 5 times a week.
75 kg, I want to be back under 75kg.
I am sure most of you are completely uninterested in this, but hey, I will need to do lots of exercise, so it will crop up in this blog. Such is life.
Oops! I thought I'd posted this, yesterday, but I just realised that I hadn't. So, the title is about today.
Well, this morning, I went to see Mr Physio. he said:
He is pleased that I have improved so much, and I don't need to see him anymore, now.
He has asked for an appointment with a poedologist, but that is taking ages to come through. He thinks I can start running again! Smile Only gently, and only starting from a few minutes, but:
So, I might go for a 5 minute run, tomorrow morning 9in the middle of a session on the bike, as that gives me an automatic warm-up and cool-down, doesn't it?
Oooh, nervous!
Ooh, I still haven't posted this. Since I wrote that, I did half-an-hour on the exercise-bike. I was pleased with myself, I worked hard, but not *too* hard.
(Update: it has been a busy week, and I haven't had a chance to run yet. Plus, my knees hurt, for no apparent reason. Oh well, I plan to do a cycle-run-cycle session, tomorrow, with a 5 minute run)
