Great North Run-PB!

Posted on: 30 Sep 2007

Hello all
Soooooooo pleased with my GNR time today - 2:06:26
A PB for me and 10 minutes better than last year.
Really good running conditions - mild and sunny, but not too hot.

Start of the run was more organised but still had to queue ages for the loo - lucky fellahs can use the 'horse-box' nearby.
Anyway - enough loo talk - managed to keep ahead of my 2:10 pace right from the start, took advantage of all the water and Lucozade stops, plus the showers (so welcome) and kept up  the pace to the end.

The lavendar oil and Dead Sea Magic bath salts in the bath late pm were wonderful, and will hopefully have done the trick and I'll  be ache free tomorrow (!)

I couldn't do the same pace for NYC, though, and will now start to plan tactics, but .... today, I will just bask in the glow of  my achievement and look forward to my ritual post-GNR  massage tomorrow  morning.

Well done to everyone else who took part - hope you had success too.

More soon..............
