I ran!

Posted on: 25 Mar 2009

Firstly, thanks for the injections advice, I have decided that it will be a last resort so am giving it a while longer yet before I ask the fizzio. Talking of who, she was a  bitch yesterday. She made me run on the treadmill for 5 whole minutes - without stopping!!! She made me run a few weeks ago and I got to 3 minutes before any pain started (to me I could have run throught it but she made me stop at the first sign), yesterday she strapped my heel up and I have to admit I didn't have any pain at all.

So, feeling good and positive about it, I took myself off to the local sports field this morning and did 10 laps of a football pitch. It was run/walk though, not 10 laps non stop unforunately. I doubt very much I could do 2 laps non stop right now! I jogged the sidelines and walked behind the goal lines, the intention was to do just 4 laps but I got a bit carried away. No problems though so I am feeling a lot happier about running than I have been of late.

I'm gonna be a grandad! My eldest daughter is due to have a baby on Sept 27th (4 days before my 45th birthday) so I am going to lay this blog to rest at last and open up a new one. You'll know it's me when you see it but it probably won't be until the 2010 Marathon Blog opens on here. Hopefully by then I will be up and running on a more regualr basis too so will have something to say. I am going to take a leaf out of Kims book and start with a strict run/walk program, from scratch and this time do it properly and not think I can do more than I actually can, and without getting all these bloody injuries.

Finally, if you read this Rachpops, good luck. I have been trying to sponsor you but for some reason my card gets rejected every time. It works everywhere else so I will have to find another way to do it. Nutter!

Never ever give up
