Lunchtime run

Posted on: 22 May 2007

Went out at lunchtime with Jenny from work who's entered the Race for Life in Huddersfield in 3 weeks time and this was her first run. I worked out a flat 1 mile run and we ran out and back for two miles.

I didn't time it no need on her first run and Jenny learned the first rule of running - start slowly - no point trying to run fast until you've learned to run slow.  I explained that it's about building up stamina and endurance and we can add speed later.

Jenny's rasing money for Cancer Research UK and has said she'll run a half marathon if she raises £500, so I'm signing her up for the Blackpool Half Marathon in February.  Good luck Jenny!
