Another wet track session

Posted on: 21 Jan 2008

Is every session going to be wet for ever?  It certainly feels like it at the moment!

On to the track again tonight with my increased group - mixing my normal athletes witht he Oldham Town boys cross country team gave me around 30 athletes tonight.

After the 1 mile warm up in torrential rain we started a pyramid session of 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m, 600m, 400m, 200m with very short recoveries - well you don't get a recovery in a race do you!

My splits were 200m 38.0s, 45s recovery, 400m 96.8s, 20s recovery, 600m 2:34.1, 20s, 800m 3:23.6, 21s, 600m 2:28.4, 22 s, 400m 92.7s, 23s, 200m 40.9s.  As you can see I was doing the second set quicker than the first  but died on the last 200m.  Still I was pleased with the session after the running I've done over the last few days.

Lunch time run tomorrow and Wednesday, then I'm driving down to Bridgend Wednesday afternoon for work, so will try to run down there on Wednesday evening.  I won't get back until late Thursday so that'll be my rest day.
