Can you recommend alternatives to gels for refueling during long runs (and the marathon)? Real food ideally...
The best solution is a banana but they aren't great to carry! The only way around refuelling during the run is to carry a 'fuel belt' that you can get from any running retailer. You can fit a small number of bananas in these. Jelly babies are another good option and very popular with runners especially late in the event.
