I am walking the marathon (42K) and want to know what I should take with me to eat during the race. I am hoping to complete this within 7 hours.
If you want to take 'food' with you you'll need to buy a 'fuel belt' that you can get from any running retailer. Now is the time to start experimenting with different types of fuel, try taking energy gels in training and see how you get on with them.
Remember to dilute them with water when you take them. During the marathon, 5 or 6 of these will be fine. Make sure you always stick to a brand that works for you and don't switch brands close to the race.
