What's the ideal pre-marathon breakfast?
It is very important to eat breakfast on the day of the race so that you make it to the start line with a full fuel tank. Your breakfast should be mainly complex carbohydrate, which will provide slow release energy to sustain you over a long period of time and a good example is breakfast cereals such as porridge. However, race day is not the time to experiment with different foods that you haven’t eaten prior to your long training runs, so stick to what you usually eat at breakfast to avoid any stomach problems.
